چکیده

The closed-loop form of a second-order hyperbolic system with scalar collocated sensor/actuator is considered. The Riesz basis property of the system is verified for diagonal semigroups based on an abstract result of one rank perturbation of discrete-type operators in Hilbert spaces. A simplified proof for the abstract result is presented.

Stabilization of Coupled Schrödinger and Heat Equations with Boundary Coupling

Abstract: We study stability of a Schrödinger equation with a collocated boundary feedback compensator in the form of a heat equation with a collocated input/output pair. We show that the spectrum of the closed-loop system consists only of two branches along two parabolas which are asymptotically symmetric relative to the line Reλ = −Imλ (the 135 line in the second quadrant). The asymptotic exp...

Control of 2× 2 Linear Hyperbolic Systems: Backstepping-Based Trajectory Generation and PI-Based Tracking

We consider the problems of trajectory generation and tracking for general 2 × 2 systems of first-order linear hyperbolic PDEs with anti-collocated boundary input and output. We solve the trajectory generation problem via backstepping. The reference input, which generates the desired output, incorporates integral operators acting on advanced and delayed versions of the reference output with ker...

Spectrum and dynamical behavior of a kind of planar network of non-uniform strings with non-collocated feedbacks

A kind of planar network of strings with non-collocated terms in boundary feedback controls is considered. Suppose that the network is constituted by n non-uniform strings, connected by one vibrating point mass. The displacements of these strings are continuous at the common vertex. The noncollocated terms are contained in feedback controls at exterior nodes. The well-posedness of the correspon...

The comparison of two high-order semi-discrete central schemes for solving hyperbolic conservation laws

This work presents two high-order, semi-discrete, central-upwind schemes for computing approximate solutions of 1D systems of conservation laws. We propose a central weighted essentially non-oscillatory (CWENO) reconstruction, also we apply a fourth-order reconstruction proposed by Peer et al., and afterwards, we combine these reconstructions with a semi-discrete central-upwind numerical flux ...

Controllability and stability of a second-order hyperbolic system with collocated sensor/actuator

A second-order hyperbolic system with collocated sensor=actuator is considered. The semigroup generation is shown for the closed-loop system under the feedback of a generic unbounded observation operator. The equivalence between the exponential stability of the closed-loop system and exact controllability of the open-loop system is established in the general framework of well-posed linear syste...
